Our fees are set in accordance with the scale of charges prepared by the Society of Notaries of Victoria.

Please note that fees displayed on this page are indicative only and may be subject to change depending on the nature and language of your document or if you require additional copies. For an accurate quote, submit your document here.

Common Fees

Witnessing your signature on a document that does not require a Notary certificate: $110.00 + GST.

    Examples:

Witnessing your signature on a document that requires a Notarial Certificate: $180.00 + GST.

    Examples:

  • Affidavits
  • Deeds
  • Resolutions

Certifying documents as originals or true copies from $180.00 + GST

    Examples:

  • Passports and other IDs
  • Birth, Death or Marriage Certificates
  • Education documents such as testamurs and/or transcripts $220.00

  • Property Transfers or Contracts of Sale

Our fees for common corporate documentation.

    Examples:

  • Certification of ASIC Document (Current Company Extract, Certificate of Incorporation): $180.00 + GST + ASIC search fees
  • Certification of Company Constitution: starting from $180.00 + GST
  • Witnessing a signature on a corporate document (e.g. Board Resolution, Certificate of Legal Representative): $180.00 + GST

The following scale of recommended fees has been prepared by the Society of Notaries of Victoria to operate with effect from 1 July 2021.

Notaries' fees in Victoria are charged on a time for service basis or on a set fee for service basis. In some cases the Notary's fee will be a combination of a fee for time and a fee for service.

1. Oaths, declarations and attestations Price
1.1 Administering an oath or affirmation, taking a declaration or attesting a signature (including, where applicable, completing a jurat or pre-printed acknowledgment or the like) without preparing and completing a notarial certificate. $110
1.2 Administering an oath or affirmation, taking a declaration or attesting a signature and preparing and completing a notarial certificate. $180
1.3 For each additional deponent, declarant or signatory at the same time. $80
1.4 Preparing and completing an exhibit note or annexure certificate. $70
1.5 Completing an exhibit note or annexure certificate prepared by others. $50
1.6 For each further original of any of the above items. Half of the original fee
2. Certifying copy documents Price
2.1 (a) Prepare and complete a notarial certificate certifying 1 individual copy document (of up to 5 pages); and
2.1 (b) For each further page of the individual document (beyond five pages).

2.2 Where appropriate and acceptable in the receiving jurisdiction:
2.2(a) certifying two to five individual copy documents (of up to five pages each) under one notarial certificate;
2.2(b) for each additional copy document of up to five pages under the same Certificate; and

5. Powers of Attorney Price
5.1 Attesting a Power of Attorney in private form for use overseas and identifying the donor. $220
5.2 Preparing and completing a notarial certificate as to the attestation of a Power of Attorney and certification of the donor’s identity. $220
6. Australian Academic Documents Price
6.1 Verifying an Australian testamur, academic document or record. $220
6.2 Preparing and completing a notarial certificate as to the verification of an Australian testamur, academic document or record and certifying a copy thereof. $220
7. Ship's Protests Price
7.1 Noting a protest prepared by a Ship's Master and entering in the register and providing one copy $385

8. Authentic form documents Price
8.1 Completing a notarial act in authentic form prepared by others, including one copy for the client and one copy for retention in the notary's protocol. $360

9. Miscellaneous fees and charges Price
9.1 In relation to any matter not otherwise specified in the scale, a notary may charge fees in accordance with the First Schedule of the current Victorian Practitioner Remuneration Order in relation to matters such as:
  • attending at DFAT and at Consulates (including uplifting documents);
  • filing documents with DFAT by post;
  • preparing documents other than notarial acts, including affidavits and declarations;
  • dealing with foreign language documents and translations;
  • making and supply of photocopies and scanning of documents;
  • reviewing of documents prior to appointments;
  • receiving and sending emails advising about notarial procedures;
  • other correspondence and perusals;
  • attendances by telephone or otherwise;
  • searching title or other searches; and
  • clerical work by staff members.
9.2 Notaries may recover all out-of-pocket expenses reasonably and properly incurred and paid.
